The Power Plant Contemporary Art Gallery at the Harbourfront Centre in Toronto celebrated with its annual fundraising soiree ‘Power Ball’ on June 14th. This years celebrations were special as the event celebrated its 25th anniversary and officially labelled the event ‘Power Ball: Quarter-Life Crisis’. By our take of the party, we can only hope our own quarter-life dilemmas can go down with as much fun as this event did!
From the guest’s fashions to the crazy themed rooms, every where you turned people were truly enjoying themselves. There were many bars available so nobody had to worry about waiting in long, crowded line ups and there were several food stations serving up delicious eats by renowned Chef Marc Thuet. A highlight with the party-goers was the spit-roasted bison being served fresh from the fire on the huge patio space and a delicious assortments of gourmet poutine. The fashions were also not to be missed, and some were so bright and adventurous you simply couldn’t miss them! Exploring room after room (one space had a giant swing, another had a giant robot, another doubled as a nightclub) you would think the venue was going through an identity crisis. But hey, isn’t that what turning 25 is all about?
