Most product launches we visit seem to entail the same process of showing off a new product. A party with drinks and some form of the product on display. But we were treated to a different kind of launch for the new Acura ILX, with the Acura Finishing School. Held at the Arta Gallery in the Distillery District, the finishing school was a lesson in style and etiquette. The first lesson came from Melissa Austria from Gotstyle, and she gave us a lesson on how to dress, how to fold your jacket when getting into a car, and how to get into the car properly without ripping the bottom of your trousers.
The next lesson came from professional etiquette coach, Linda Allan, who gave us tips on how to eat and behave at a table properly while we ate through a four-course meal. We learned quite a lot about the ways to eat, how to pass the bread, where to place your napkin, and even where to place your cutlery.
Then we were escorted outside to take a look at the new Acura ILX. The new Acura is quite impressive and with a $27,790 starting price, its pretty affordable as well. We got the chance to take the new car for a test drive and we loved all the features that the car had, like the Keyless Access System and keyless start button, the iPod interface and Bluetooth Audio, and the on board GPS system. We also had the new hybrid model, which is a first for Acura. It was a little hard to get used to in the beginning, but soon we got used to the change between the engine and electric motor.
