We Say Goodbye To Fashion Television

Yesterday saw many people tweeting the sad news that after 27 years, Canadian television staple ‘Fashion Television’ had been cancelled. A pioneering show in 1985, Fashion Television became a hit show for the CityTv channel and host Jeanne Beker become a fashion icon. Bell Media, which now owns the program, did not give a reason as to why the show was cancelled but confirmed the production of the show had been suspended. Beker took to her own twitter account to let her fans know of the decision.

Toronto Is Fashion - We Say Goodbye To Fashion Television (1)

This may be a hard blow for Canada’s Queen of fashion, but don’t think for a second Jeanne Beker has lost her crown. Bell Media is already eager to begin new projects with Jeanne, but no word on what kind of format the new project will be. She also has a fashion line EDIT: By Jeanne Beker sold exclusively at The Bay, writes a weekly column for The Toronto Star and the respect of budding fashionista’s all over globe. Cheers to Jeanne for an amazing 27 years of fashionable tv and for inspiring these two young gents to pursue their fashion dreams in the form of a blog.

Fashion Television Channel will still be running, with Bell Media saying they will continue to grow the fashion genre for it’s audience. Check out the video below, a Rogers Daytime interview with Jeanne Beker .
