Abercrombie & Fitch Loses Its Muscle

Once fueled by racy ads featuring shirtless male models and media stories reporting the company hired employees based on looks and appearance, Abercrombie has announce publicly that the company will be less “sexualized.” The former CEO of Abercrombie has come under some serious scrutiny before for his comments on appearance, and the company has come under attack by Taylor Swift’s fans, so who knows if this change will be effective? The company will no longer call it’s sales associates “models” but instead “brand representatives”.

Holt Renfrew Looks To Expand Vancouver Store

The Canadian retailer announced details of a plan Friday to grow the size of its Dunsmuir Street store by 30 per cent, or nearly 40,000 square feet to the location. The store renovations is part of a massive $100 million dollar investment announced last year. The luxury retailer also opened a Menswear only store on Toronto’s Bloor Street in October 2014.

Fashion Revolution Day

To commemorate the anniversary of the garment factory collapse at Rana Plaza in Bangladesh, consumers took to social media and started the conversation, asking “Where do my clothes come from?” The tragedy at Rana Plaza led to the death of 1,129 workers and consumers are still demanding safe working conditions and a good wage for workers across the globe.

Hockey Fans Will Be Happy

Sears Canada Inc. announced that it is collaborating with hockey icon Wayne Gretzky to launch a new line of casual menswear in the fall of 2015, which will be sold exclusively to Sears. Featuring knit tops, pants and sports jackets starting at $39.99, this new brand focuses on classic pieces with rich fabrics such as mercerized cottons, cashmeres and merino wool.

The Corsage Project Helps Hundreds of Toronto Girls Go To Prom

The annual Corsage Project took place last weekend, helping high-school students with the crazy costs associated with prom by providing girls with a complete outfit as well as make-up and hair tutorials. The one day event titled ‘Boutique Ball’ celebrated it’s 15th incredible year. We volunteered this year, marking out 3rd year volunteering for this awesome cause. |FAT| Celebrates 10 Years

This year’s #MADEINCANADA theme put the spotlight on Canadian culture and the five-day event wraps up on Saturday. The shows marked a milestone for one of the biggest events in Canada that supports indie designers and also saw the return of designer Evan Biddell who presented a very cool, futuristic collection.

Royal Baby Watch

While anticipation builds among the royal baby watch followers, the new addition to Kate and William’s family is already destined to be a fashion phenom. Kate’s maternity wear and Prince George’s baby clothes were a marketing hit as many retailers ran out of stock in some styles.
