The CBC recently released a story of the most expensive places to do business in Canada. Using figures provided by Colliers International, a major real estate consultant group, the list ranks the world’s most expensive retail strips. In the top spot for Canada is Toronto’s own luxury shopping destination Bloor Street, which is the home to international design houses like Chanel, Louis Vuitton and Burberry. To set up shop on the busy street retailers have to pay an average of $310 US per square foot; an increase of 3.3 percent from 2010. A hefty price for a business, but its peanuts compared to what retailers are paying on New York’s infamous Fifth Avenue, where it’ll cost you $2,633 US per square foot of space. Bloor Street may be the priciest spot for retailers but it’s not the only Canadian destination to crack the list:
