The Smirnoff Nightlife Exchange Project

Last weekend, Canada received a culture shock thanks to the Smirnoff Nightlife Exchange Project. On November 27th, 14 countries swapped the best nightlife and culture they had to offer for one epic night of partying and celebrations. Lebanon and Thailand swapped, Beirut became Bangkok, and Canada recieved an infusion of everything India.
Toronto Is Fashion was invited to check it out and be a part of the fun. The organizers of the event did a great job of converting the space, as guests entered the venue through a long, narrow corridor that was turned into a crowded market place. Art installations, live drumming, people giving out beads and necklaces, bicycles weaving in and out of the pedestrian traffic, all helped to create the feeling of the hustle and bustle of a country of over one billion people. Drink tickets were authentic Indian rupee’s being handed out by girls in authentic Indian Saris. In the main room, tents, lanterns and lush fabrics filled the space as party goers enjoyed concerts by Shaa’ir and Func, Jalebee Cartel, Isis from Thunderheist, and Dragonette.
