The pool at Villas Flamingos stems right to the ocean’s front. A unique feature of Villas Flamingos is the iguana homes which are located under the pool. There really is nothing to be afraid of with the iguanas, as we said earlier, the wildlife co-exist on the island in an amazing way.
While Holbox Island is quite small there is plenty that you can do.
Depending on the time of year, Villas Flamingos has different activities they can recommend that include a three island tour of the surrounding areas, a whale shark tour, a trip to Chichen Itza and more. To indulge even further into relaxation or romance, guests can book a message, private dinner or horse-back riding tour.
While we made the most of our time at Villa Flamingos by relaxing by the pool or on our terrace, we did go into the main Holbox area. Villas Flamingos can order you a taxi or rent you a golf cart but we suggest using one of the hotel’s bicycles to get around the island. They have plenty available for guests and many tourist and local residents use a bicycle as their choice of transportation. The use of bicycle is also highly encouraged as it has the absolute lowest impact on the island’s natural ecosystem.
