Online Website helps Fort McMurray

The Fort McMurray wildfire continues to burn since it first ignited on May 1st. Just two days later, the fire ravaged Fort McMurray resulting in a monumental evacuation and widespread damage.

More than 88,000 people have been displaced as a result of the fire with almost 2,400 homes destroyed. The fire originated in Northern Alberta and has now spread to Saskatchewan. The disaster has cost the nation billions in not only destruction but lost oil production as the oil sand fields have been closed and drilling halted. The fire has threatened these areas of the nation as well.

The world has once again proved how small it is and how much we all depend on one another as nations have offered their support to the Canadian government. In the beginning, it didn’t seem to be needed. However, as the fire defied hopes and continued to blaze, firefighters from the US and South Africa have been sent to try to get the fire under control.

Along with the support of foreign governments, the Canadian government stated they would match any donations made to the Canadian Red Cross. Additionally, many businesses have also lent their assistance in fundraising.  GamblingInsider.ca, a site dedicated to offering up the best Canadian online casinos is one such business. For the entire month of June, they will contribute $1 for any new player to sign up and make a deposit at one of the online casinos listed at the site. Not only is money needed to fight the fire but to take care of those who have either been displaced or those who need to clean up their residence.

With the Fort McMurray Wildfire continuing to burn, the need for relief will continue to mount. Without a doubt the people of Canada are grateful for the outpouring of support from their citizens, foreign nations and sites like GamblingInsider.ca.
