Take the Challenge with ONExONE and Live Below The Line

Live Below the Line OnexOne

Could you live on $1.75 a day? Imagine spending only that amount each day for your food and drink, could you survive? ONEXONE is asking that very question and in doing so, is bringing awareness to the millions of people right here in Canada who experience food insecurity.

Live Below the Line is a global initiative, challenging people from all walks of life to spend only $1.75 per day on food and drink from April 27th to May 1st, 2015, to raise awareness for the lack of choice and opportunity faced by 1.2 billion people living in extreme poverty worldwide.

Because ONEXONE shares Live Below the Line’s commitment to ending extreme poverty and changing the way Canadians think about food insecurity, they have become one of the 11 official charity partners for the 2015 challenge.

Presently, 13% of Canadians, about 4 million people, including 1.15 million children experience food insecurity, and a disproportionate amount of those who experience food insecurity (27%) identify as First Nations. With 80% of schools enrolled in the First Nations School Breakfast Program in remote locations, cost isn’t the only challenge but also access to healthy food is a daily challenge.

ONEXONE founder and global humanitarian Joey Adler has chosen to take this challenge a step further by living on the streets to raise awareness on the plight of homeless people, particularly First Nations youth.

From April 27 to May 1, ONEXONE will be taking the Live Below the Line challenge alongside many supporters and  is asking you to help raise awareness and funds to help fight global poverty. What do you say? Can you live off of only $1.75 a day? Find out and get involved by visiting below.
