Men’s Trend : Toronto Fashion Week

Pop culture has had its place in influencing fashion for more than a few decades. The James Bond effect, the rise in suiting sales during or after the release of a film in the franchise, extends to more than just 007’s.

Watching the runway collections at The World MasterCard Toronto Fashion Week we were impressed by the menswear designs, especially the use of monochromatic outfits. Proving that grey doesn’t’ have to be bland or boring, these looks from Klaxon Howl, Jaan Choxi, and Soia & Kyo are classic and interesting.

Utilizing layers, prints and texture to help keep this trend from looking flat. Taking a back seat, but not forgotten, the colour black is grey’s best friend in the upcoming fall season. There are a lot of options in terms of shades, from the very dark to light steel-like blue, we recommend trying on several shades if you want to experiment with the monochromatic grey trend.
