One of the biggest names in fashion dropped into Toronto to celebrate the collaboration between fashion and interior design at the Art Shoppe Lofts + Condos.
Karl Lagerfeld, who is in charge of designing the building’s lobbies, was hosted at a private event by Freed Developments and CD Capital Developments. Toronto Is Fashion was lucky enough to score an invitation to this exciting and unique event!
Hosted by Peter Freed, President of Freed Developments, Jordan Dermer and Todd Cowan, Managing Partners of CD Capital Developments, guests were welcomed into a glamorous venue, complete with crystal chandeliers, Perrier Jouet champagne and music courtesy of New York City model and DJ Leigh Lezark of the Misshapes.
This is the first real estate project in North America to involve the creative direction of Mr. Lagerfeld. The Art Shoppe Lofts + Condos, located at 2131 Yonge Street in Toronto, Canada, will feature a 28-storey tower on the north side of the property stepping down to a 12 storey mid-rise building of lofts to the south. Suite options in the development range from studios to two bedrooms den suites. The lobby will have the exclusive touch from Lagerfeld under creative director.
It’s interesting to design public spaces in a big building like this. It’s a vision – you can use modern furniture, modern architecture – things I’m really interested in. It’s up to me to find an idea of what will make this building different from the other buildings. The minute you enter, you have to feel that you’re in a place that’s special.
