On Thursday night, Toronto Is Fashion was given the opportunity to attend the Globe and Mail’s official opening soiree for the Interior Design Show 2011.

Fashion and interior design have gone hand-in-hand for years, and the gala proved to be a reflection of this as the event space quickly became a who’s who of the fashion and design scenes. Fashion Television’s Jeanne Beker, Flare Magazine’s editor-in-chief Lisa Tant, socialite Suzanne Rogers and Realtor Jennifer Payette mingled with the heavy hitters of the interior design world including Steven Sabados and Chris Hyndman, Sarah Richardson and Alfred Sung. We were also delighted to meet other Toronto personalities that only a show like IDS can bring together. Georgia and Susanne, better known as The Wine Ladies, were a thrill to finally meet as we discussed purses and the shows exhibits. Love It or List It designer Hilary Farr was another person we were happy to unexpectedly meet during the evening.

Although it was a little cold outside, it didn’t stop guests from looking sharp and wearing some great dresses, although there was a bit of overkill on the Lanvin for H&M. Check out our pictures from the event below, and check back for our coverage of the rest of IDS 11.
