Designer Brittany Wacher was born and raised on a farm in Western Canada, and educated in Vancouver. She spent a few years in between Europe, Asia and Canada gaining experience in the fashion industry by working for Asian art and fashion publications. Wacher then moved to Arnhem where she worked with Dutch designer Pauline Van Dongen. It was under Van Dongen’s tuleage that Wacher began to refine her approach to garment construction under the designer’s concept of fashion:science. In January 2013, Wacher moved to Montreal and founded her label, Brit Wacher.
Wacher’s current work focuses upon her perspectives in experiencing life through Fantasy, and surrounding realistic core conflicts of the world around her. Pieces are based upon the concept of duality and the passage of energy through time and space. Wacher is interested in creating well made garments with a conceptual display of both shapely-tailored craftsmanship with flowing draped elements and subtle obscurities.
