Mikhael Kale, 30 years of age, studied at London’s Central Saint Martins. In 2003 Mikhael began working in Milan for labels such as Antonio Marras and Bally, later securing a design position for Exte under both Sergio Ciucci and Alessandro De Benedetti.
In 2007 Mikhael began his eponymous label Mikhael Kale, and has since been featured in The New York Times Style Magazine, Wallpaper, Dazed and Confused, V Magazine, WWD, Nylon, Surface and has dressed celebrities such as Jennifer Lopez, Sienna Miller and Beyoncé.
Mikhael Kale is an exploration of the human form. An intense, thoughtful and honest approach to pattern making. The essence and framework of the label rests on the belief that garments, like the body is mortal; they both move and breathe. Garments are created to function as separate breathable entities, an extension of the wearer, they compliment the architecture of the body, expressing both the fragility and strength of its form.
