The Interior Design Show is a three day weekend show that brings together leading interior design brands, innovative speakers and rising local talents all under one well-designed room. The first IDS took place in January 1999 and it is back for it’s 17th year bringing the newest & most innovative of international and Canadian design. Each year, we take a look around The Interior Design Show pick our favourite exhibits that we think you should visit!
Caesarstone Canada – The Caesarstone Canada is always an exhibit that shouldn’t be missed! This year they have collaborated with Canadian-born, London-based designer, Philippe Malouin, to engage with its quartz surface materials to make a fully functional swing set! A huge hit with the IDS crowd, but make sure you get there early if you want to do some swinging yourself.
MissoniHome- The entrance to the IDS show features a collaboration with MissoniHome, in celebration of the 60th anniversary of the iconic, internationally-acclaimed brand. You will experience the brand’s never-before-seen designs and you will also have the opportunity of purchasing MissoniHome products at the limited edition pop-up shop featured at the show. Partial proceeds supporting Habitat for Humanity Canada!
Cubitat – CUBITAT by Urban Capital and Nichetto Studio is a 10 x 10 x 10 customizable object that responds to small space habitation. Featuring ‘plug and play’ elements, the structure integrates the best in architecture, interior design and product design, housing everything you need in a living space: a kitchen, bathroom, bedroom, entertaining area, storage, and furniture all in a small space space!
designboom – the designboom mart gives you the opportunity to meet new and established designers who are testing new design ideas. The designboom mart is also a bazaar that gives you the opportunity to shop over thirty design talents from around the world, with displays featuring of hundreds of objects. Everything from household items, jewellery and accessories to small furniture items and lighting objects.
